The Welding Business of Kobe Steel

Kobe Steel’s weldig business, according to them, is one of the world’s three largest manufacturers of welding consumables.  With a history spanning over half a century, the Welding Bussiness has the top share of the Japanese Market.

Gas Review interviewed Tsuyoshi Kasuya, Senior Managing Director at Kobe Steel and head of the Welding Business regarding the current business environment surrounding the company and trends for the future.  The focus of the interview was on such matters as the continuing appreciation of the yen,and the skyrocketing price of titanium oxide used in welding material.
